Partnership with NCBS: websites and social media for non-profits with impact in Uganda
Laura Joe - de Bruine

At Your Digital Home we believe a strong online presence is the foundation for success and growth. But we believe in more than just building beautiful websites or managing social media; we believe in creating real, meaningful impact. We're proud to share that we've entered into a wonderful partnership with NCBS (Nile Centre Business Support).
Together with a team of highly educated, passionate African professionals, we support businesses, foundations and non-profits with their online strategy, websites and online marketing. NCBS's vision aligns seamlessly with our values: giving local talent in Uganda the chance to flourish, building towards an independent and sustainable future.
Why Your Digital Home partners with NCBS
Many organisations and non-profits want to grow online, but in practice run into the same obstacles. The website is outdated, social media is updated irregularly, and newsletters keep getting postponed due to lack of time. Meanwhile, a professional online presence and consistent communication are exactly what's crucial for online engagement, customer loyalty, or fundraising.
Your Digital Home helps organisations bring structure, quality and calm to this. Through our unique partnership with NCBS, we build a rock-solid foundation for your digital channels. The best part? Your online growth in the Netherlands or Europe goes hand in hand with direct, life-changing impact in Africa. An absolute win-win-win.
The story behind NCBS: Matthijs & Mieke van de Wetering
It's a well-known story that job opportunities for highly educated young people in Africa are scarce. Young, talented professionals graduate from university full of ambition, but often end up unemployed at home. This touched the hearts of entrepreneurs Matthijs and Mieke van de Wetering when they moved to Uganda. To bring about change and give this young talent a flying start, they founded NCBS.
At the same time, NCBS solves a growing problem on the other side of the ocean. In Europe, we face enormous and persistent labour market shortages due to an ageing population. NCBS literally builds a bridge: by intensively training Ugandan young people for full-fledged office jobs, we create loyal and skilled remote team members for the European market.
A broader mission: Growing Talent, Creating Chances
Matthijs and Mieke's involvement goes much further, though. Besides NCBS, they're also the driving force behind the activities of Stichting Bring Light. Where NCBS focuses on the business and digital market, Bring Light's initiatives focus on the broader concept of Growing Talent, Creating Chances. They do this through several impactful pillars:
Bring Light in Education & Talent: supporting and coaching young people to discover and develop their unique skills.
- Developing entrepreneurship and personal growth: within this programme there are two powerful ways local entrepreneurship is sustainably promoted:
- Setting up a supply chain: creating a quality honey brand of their own with a complete supply chain that local beekeepers can join for a fair and stable income.
- Supporting local business: strengthening existing local entrepreneurs in their own business through targeted training, intensive coaching and long-term mentorship in follow-up.
- Support for other organisations: Bring Light shares its expertise and offers active support to other foundations and social organisations in the region.
Both NCBS and Bring Light are built on the conviction that every person has valuable talents. By providing the right tools, market access and guidance, these talents get the chance to truly make a difference.
Trained specifically for today's roles
Based in vibrant Jinja, Uganda, NCBS offers a high-quality training programme within two crucial fields:
- IT & Online Marketing: young people are prepared for various roles within online marketing agencies like Your Digital Home. Think of support with web design, graphic design and technical support.
- Accounting & Finance: talents are trained to become junior Finance Officers or assistant accountants. They provide the perfect support for daily administration at accounting firms and companies that are short-staffed.
This talent is also ready for any organisation or business that needs a driven, eager-to-learn junior in these roles.
What does this partnership mean for your non-profit?
When you work with Your Digital Home, you bring in professional, top-quality reinforcement while directly contributing to the development and work experience of Ugandan talents, such as Vanessa Namutebi. This lets them support their own families, build a stable life, and send their children to school.
We always remain your fixed, Dutch point of contact. We oversee the strategy, guard the quality, and make sure communication perfectly matches your target audience, while the digital execution is (partly) handled by the talents in Uganda.
We support you with a lot of expertise on:
- A website that clearly shows who you are and why your work or product matters.
- Social media posts that build the trust and engagement of your audience.
- Email marketing that helps keep the bond with your supporters or customers warm.
